Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How To Get Rid Of Pain In Leg And Groin Post Angiogram?
I have had an angiogram and since then have had violent pains in my leg and groin although it appears that the catheter incision area has healed. My doctor has prescribed Pregabalin to relieve pain, but it is not effective. what has gone wrong, and what should be done ?
It looks from your details that you may be having femoral neuralgia after angiogram. Sometime there is injury to cutaneous nerve after angiogram. This may occur in about 30% cases. I am agree with your doctor on prescription of pregabalin. Please also take assistance from a physical therapist.Such pain some time take long time (about 6 weeks to more then 6 months) to go away.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mukesh Tiwari, Orthopedic Surgeon
