Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic
You have mentioned 2 concerns: Active acne and Post-inflammatory Hyperpigmentation/PIH which is a common complication of acne.
If I was the treating doctor I would have started you on Topical treatment. Topical treatment would include topical
Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5% gel for day time use only as a spot treatment for active acne.
Topical Retinoids e.g
Adapalene gel for night time use; to be applied to the whole affected area.
Topical retinoids are comedolytic as well as antiinflammatory. They prevent new acne formation apart from treating existing ones.
Topical retinoids also help lighten dark spots left over from previous acne.
I suggest that you visit a
dermatologist in your region for the needful. Your treating dermatologist will assess the severity of your acne and might also start you on
Oral Antibiotics for active inflammatory acne.
You may also opt for a few sessions of chemical peeling from your treating dermatologist.
Salicylic acid chemical peeling is quite good for acne and oily skin conditions.
