How To Get Rid Of Uterine Fibroid With Low Iron Level?
I had a merina fitted a year ago for heavy bleeding and the merina hasn't helped. I had an ultrasound the other day and found out it is not in the right place because it is stuck part way up on a golf ball size fibroid. Do I have a hystrecomy or get the fibroid removed? I am also very concened as the merina is stuck. I am an active 42 year old have suffered with low iron levels for 3 years.
Hi and thank you so much for trusting us with your health query.
I am so sorry to hear about this fibroid. If you are certain of not wishing o have more children in future, I will suggest that you consider hysterectomy. Though is is a more demanding procedure, you would be able to stay free of future diseases related to the uterus and cervix like cancers, menstrual problem, etc. Probably, the excessive bleeding caused by this is the cause of your anemia. You would need iron supplementation to correct this anemia and rebuild your iron stores.
I hope you find this helpful. Thank you so much for using our services and please feel free to for more information or clarifications if need be. I wish you the best of health. Dr. Ditah, MD.
