Hi,
Welcome to health care magic.

Watery diarrhea could be infective (virus, bacteria, parasite) or dysentery or lactose intolerance or irritable bowel syndrome or drug induced etc.

Antibiotics are used to treat bacterial infections.

Human body has normal bacterial flora in intestine which are responsible for digestion of certain unused substances, suppress the growth of
harmful microbes, strengthens human system for pathogens and saves from some diseases.

Your husband may go for routine blood count, electrolytes and stool examination with ultrasound abdomen to diagnose the underlying cause.

Treatment is mainly depend on the underlying cause but he may require antibiotics(ofloxacin with metronidazole) if infective, prebiotics and probiotics, antispasmodics, antacids, antiinflammatories with water and electrolyte replacement.

He must consult your gastroenterologist for further advise and treatment rather than just taking self medication.

Thanks and Regards,
