Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been inhaling whitner and diluter since 6 months regularly...like arohnd 5-6 times a day.. And now i think i m really addicted to it and my hemoglobin levels are also going down.. does whitner affect the hb count? and plzz suggest me ways to remove this addiction
I read you query and from what you have mentioned you seem to have become dependent on volatile solvents. Volatile solvents includes many substances including whitener, spirits, kerosene, petrol, thinners. They give an immediate high due to which a person starts inhaling them again and again and become dependent.
Volatile solvents can cause multiple health problems. Affecting blood counts can be one of them. However, it is also important to rule out other causes of low hemoglobin counts like iron deficiency or worm infestation.
I would suggest you seek a psychiatric consultation without any delay. You would need treatment with medication like benzodiazepines which will help you counter withdrawal effects of volatile solvents. In addition appropriate treatment of low hemoglobin like iron supplementation would be required. Regular counseling for long term abstinence from the whitener will be very helpful.
Hope this information was helpful. Best wishes.
