Hello!

Welcome on Healthcaremagic!

Your symptoms could be related to altered lymphatic drainage (which would explain the persistent swelling) or to a pinched nerve (which would explain the inability to keep your fingers straight) caused by the trauma.
For this reason, I recommend consulting with your attending physician. A nerve conduction study is necessary to examine the nerves in this limb and exclude a pinched nerve, which would need surgery. Other tests to study the lymphatic drainage are necessary too.
You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues. But my advice is to perform those tests as soon as better, because sometimes recovery is very slow when it is too late.
Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Best wishes, Dr. Aida
