How To Heal An 5 Years Back Injury Mediated Wound On Inner Calf Which Began To Rise Like A Blood Blister?

Hey there! About five years ago, when I was eleven I was a very agile and adventurous kid. I always found myself climbing trees and swimming in the intracoastal, Etc. Well, one day I climbed an oak tree, after I reached about 15 feet I decided I would impress my friends by showing them how daunting I was. I leaped out of the tree and landed on a pile of twigs and palm fronds. Right as my inner calf made contact with the dead shrubbery I was impaled in three different spots all placed directly next to each other by little twigs. The larger may have been a half an inch, and the other two slightly smaller. Well, my grandfather being the E.M.T he is fixed it up for me. All seemed well, aside from a swelling pain that seemed to subside after a month. The scar healed normally turning into a yellowish color then fading to the healthy white color. About a year ago the larger of the three scars began to rise turning from a white color to a purple color kind of similar to a blood blister and it became very noticeable. It was very annoying because I didn t want to agitate or disrupt it, as I had no clue what it was. So my grandpa suggested a warm wash cloth and after daily placement of this damp wash cloth it began to draw out the fluids that were any where from red to orange to white. Freaky stuff! We figured there may have been a little bit of wood still stuck in my leg finally trying to escape. That wasn t the case because I never noticed anything, maybe I didn t do this long enough. Anyways, it began to take a different form and instead started receding into my leg forming a dark purple indentation that has remained ever since. My grandfather reassures me that it is benign but I m a bit of a hypochondriac and whenever I feel a sudden pain or itch I begin to worry. Now I have found this website where I can interact with a doctor on the internet hopefully your human and not a automated response, and possibly gain some insight as to what caused this abnormal coloring, and if I should seek help from a dermatologist or what, thanks! And sorry this had to be so long. Just kidding I m not sorry, it s your job haha. No, but I m sorry.....Seriously

Hello and welcome to HCM,
As you have mentioned that you sustained injuries on your calf 5 years back which healed at that time without any complication.
Now again a lesion has developed at that site.
It is unlikely for a lesion to develop again after a period of 5 years.
Definitely you need to consult your doctor.
A clinical examination of the lesion is needed to make any diagnosis.
Clinical examination will guide further investigations and thus management.

Thanks and take care
