How To Heal Fall Mediated Left Arm Injury With Severe Pain And A Big Lump On Shoulder?
Hi, My daughter fell really hard on her left arm two nights ago and is in a lot of pain. Her shoulder blade, shoulder, upper arm and lower arm all hurt and she can hardly move it. I took her to the urgent care yesterday where they barely looked at it. They took xrays and thought it wasn't broken. It now appears to have a very large bump on her shoulder and is still in a lot of pain. Could they have missed something? Thank you.
I am so sorry to hear about this fall and the painful lump. It would be very unlikely that they missed out on a fracture on the xray unless they were not done and interpreted by a specialist. Because of the severity of symptoms and the presence of this large lump should prompt a return visit t the hospital. This could represent an actively bleeding vessel that may need compression for hemostasis. Also, limit movements involving the affected part of his arm, apply ice packs and administer pain medications to help relief him of the pains.
I hope this addresses your query fully. Thank you so much for patronizing our services and please do feel free to ask for follow up clarifications and information if need be. I wish you the best of health. Dr. Ditah, MD.
