How To Heal Scraped Shin Followed By Blisters And Itchiness?
My son had a bad scrape on his shin and I kept it covered for 2 days. On the 3rd day it developed blisters I believe from the Bacitricin I put on it. It is itchy and painful around the wound with clear blisters in groups. We are on the 2nd day of blisters and they have gotten bigger. Will they continue to get bigger and then start healing? Wondering what the healing process is so I know what to expect.
Hi Welcome to healhcaremagic After going through your query I concluded that your son has got injury to his shin. He got blisters which are enlarging. It is due to edema and compartment pressure which is leading to blisters. It is unlikely to be due to local application of basitracin. Elevation of foot over pillow will be of use. Active toe movements are useful in recovery and reducing swelling. Analgesic such as ibuprofen are of use as they reduce pain and swelling. Antibiotics are given to control the infection. Vitamin B and C help in recovery. You can discuss your doctor about it. Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then please don't hesitate to write to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. You can also write to me directly on below link: https://www.bit.ly/askdrsudhirortho Wishing you good health. Take care.
