How To Heal Very Dry Skin?

hi doctor..I have a very dry skin for which I consulted a doctor and she gave me dermadrew aloe gel and after applying it.My skin became even dry.I went back to her and she prescribed hhsone cream to use and asked me to come back after 1 week and also told not to apply anything else till then.

Hi,

You are having xerosis..means dry skin. It may be idiopathic or secondary to some disease. It may be genetic or inherited like ichthyosis vulgaris. You consult dermatologist for real diagnosis. After thorough examination and investigation, he might come to some diagnosis. If there found some cause like thyroid dysfunction, diabetes or some other, it may be treated. And local application of liquid parrafin or urea containing cream might improve the condition of the skin. Soap bath may be avoided. You may get good result. I hope you got my answer.
