Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello...Ipicked up my prescripton from cvs today and the pill is smaller than my usual,it has #5012 on it with a v and the one I take has I believe a 5013 and is larger..I take 3 each night for seizures,,I have 2 left of the larger that i have been taking for a long time(the dosage of the larger is 180mgs...do not know what the smaller one is..It has the same dosage on the bottle, but I do not know what to do..sure I will be covered until a.m. ...what to do..
The pill with imprint 5012 V is white, round and has been identified as Phenobarbital 32.4 mg. The pill with imprint 5013 is also phenobarbital. but double dosage (64.8 mg).
So, if you are taking the smaller pill with imprint 5012, you need to take 2 tablets in place of 1.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Lekshmi Rita Venugopal, General & Family Physician
