Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
I have studied your case and ai think that she might be having knee osteoarthritis. In this condition there is reduction of joint space and there is loss of elasticity. Patient can not sit on the floor and squat.
I would suggest you to send me her x rays or any other investigation you have. I will try my best to help you.
Till that time I would recommend you to give your wife calcium and vitamin D 3 daily. Along with than you should also teach her physiotherapy.
I hope these steps will be helpful to you. Let me know if there is any other questions.
Thanks
