How To Improve Hemoglobin Level In Pregnancy? What Are The Problems When Hemoglobin Level Is Less During Delivery?
Hi Currently I am pregnant and in next two months I am going to give birth to a baby. I have low level of hemoglobin of 9, what are the problems if hemoglobin level is less when delivery and what I need to do to immediate increase my hemoglobin level, since the delivery date is reaching.
Dear member, Thanks for using healthcaremagic. Low hemoglobin [ hb] in pregnancy can occur due to decreased intake of iron supplements. To check whether low iron is the reason tests like peripheral smear, complete blood count, serum ferrtin, are recommended. sometimes small amounts of blood loss Daily like bleeding gums, or painful piles can cause anemia. low blood in your body may cause problem during delivery if you have more than usual blood loss called post partum hemorrhage. In which case you may require emergency blood transfusion. as you have still 2 months till delivery it would be better to do the blood tests and then start oral iron supplements depending on the test results and also include iron rich foods in diet.
