My son is 5 years old son weighing 25 kg.He frequently suffers from cough & cold.A month back we had put him into swimming but after 4 classes only he developed severe cough ,blocked & runny nose along with fever. He was advised by the dr. to take Budecort 2 puffs daily, levolin4 puffs, Montair lc kid,Ambrodil syrup 5ml thrice daily& P 250 on SOS basis & Nasonex spray. After 2 weeks of medication he is better now & the dr.has asked to only continue with budecort 2 puff & Montair LC kid syrupfor a month. However since yesterday He has once again developed blocked &runny nose along with cough though it is very mild..Should I start giving him Levolin inhaler & Ambrodil syrup? When can he resume swimming class?I feel his immunity is very low.with a little change in weather he starts suffering from cough & cold..What should i do to improve his immunity power?
Hello Children frequently get cough, cold and runny nose due to repeated viral infections or allergies. As you correctly described symptoms child has got correct treatment too. Best way of preventing allergies is avoiding dust, pollen, pets, insects and cold. Though outdoor and physical activities are good for children exposure to cold water can induce allergic reaction. Make sure child doesn't get into very cold water for swimming. Also encourage outdoor games such as long tennis and foot ball. If child get repeated non serious viral infections and allergies that doesn't mean his immune power is low.
