How To Increase The Chances Of Ovulation?

I am 36 and I stopped taking femodene in May to try to conceive. I had a withdrawal bleed of 5 days and since then I have bled when expected but only for 1 to 3 days which is much less than I would naturally bleed for, am I ovulating or could this bleed just be uterus lining? Can you recommend anything to increase my chances of ovulation if I am not actually ovulating? How long would one expect it to take for periods to return to a normal cycle? Many thanks for any advice.
