my tsh was 7.59 in june 2012 when i was detected with hypothyroidism. had gained nearly 10 kgs since 2010. i was put on thyronorm50mcg. in sept 2012 tsh was 3.59. then i had dconstant constipation and water retention on the face in the mornings. i got blood tests done in jan 2014. tsh was 5.59. my GP increased my thyronorm dose to 75mcg. is it ok? shall i lose weight now? I had changed my eating habits since August2012 and managed to lose around 6kgs. But weight loss is not easy . A slight variance in diet immediately leads to weight gain

hi
thanks for using healthcare magic

TSH increase when level of thyroid decrease below optimal level. in that case thyroid hormone is given through tablets. Same thing in ur case. if ur thyroid gland is unable to maintain the optimal level of thyroid hormone in blood that mean thyronorm dose has to be increased. which is done by ur physician. Rest to control weight u have to do daily exercise and dietary control.

Thanks
