General & Family Physician, Dr. Samarth 's Response
Hi, 6 kg weight is appropriate for a child with birth weight of 2 kg. If the child was born with a higher birth weight, then he surely has a poor weight gain. Since she is more than six months of age, start complementary feeding in form of Cereals, rice, porridge(daliya), soup, sweet rice, curd etc. make her eat whatever she enjoys eating. Keep giving her milk as given previously. Give her supplements like Syrup D3 Must 1 ml once a day for 6 months. Also give her Syrup Calcimax P 5 ml twice a day for 1 month. Start some b complex supplement like Syrup A to Z 5 ml once a day for 1 month. Also de worm her by giving Syrup Albendazole 10 ml once only at night. Keep good care of her nutrition and her sanitation. She should catch up with her growth soon. Thanks and regards.
