How To Manage A Child S Vomiting, Unable To Hold Medicines And Electral?
Hi..my son is 4 yr old. He has been vomitting out everything, that he has been having since evening , we gave him domstal which he vommited out , even 2 teaspoon electrol is gettin vomitted out ... So we now gave him emstal 2mg ,just 2 drops and 1 spoon electral water which he again threw out after 5mins .... Wat do u suggest shld be done now
Thank you for your query. it seems acute gastroenteritis. nothing to worry.
just observe him for couple of hours. NO intake of liquid or solid food for couple of hours. after 2 hours or so, give less amount of liquid and keep him upstraight for few minutes after the intake. DO NOT give him emstal but "Oral Rehydrated Solution intake is encouraged". more history would have been useful such as does baby have fever, number of episodes of vomiting, does the baby suffer from diarrhea too, what did he eat in the afternoon, does any of his siblings has such symptoms.
if any further queries, feel free to ask. thank you regards,Dr Tayyab Malik
