Hello and welcome to HCM It seems to be an irritant dermatitis to the oil. The skin maybe delicate or sensitive to the oil. Also if there already was a skin problem present, then applying oil on it would have made it worse. Avoid applying any more oil on the skin, even if the redness and burning is gone. For now apply a soothing menthol lotion to the burning skin 2-3 times a day. Take an antihistamine like levocet daily for a few days till the reaction goes down. If there is severe burning or spreading rash, apply a steroid cream like mometasone for about 5 days. Use a mild soap, baby soap or glycerin soap for now. Dont scratch or rub the area. Avoid applying any such oils in future. If it doesnt subside do visit a dermatologist for further treatment and to check the exact cause. If allergies keep coming up, blood tests may be done if necessary. Start on the treatment and observe improvement, and consult the dermatologist for follow up. Hope this helps.
