How To Overcome The Deep Purple Bruise Inside My Lip?

I was elbowed in the face yesterday at cheerleading practice. I not only have a very unsightly fat lip, but on the inside of my lip I have a deep purple bruise about the size of a quarter. How can I resolve this? Will I have to have my lip cut open and drained?

Hi,

I can understand your concern for deep purple bruise inside your lip.

After reading your query it appears to be simple process which is known as "trauma induced ecchymosis".

In most of the circumstances these bruises fades by itself and are normal in its appearance after few days of time.

You can take a pain killer like paracetamol for 2 times day. Apply a cream containing Thrombophob Gel (Heparin Sodium IP) very lightly on the affected area. Additionally take chymo-trypsin tablets three times a day.

The marks will fade by itself in next 14 days, so there is no need to cut open and drain the wound.

Hope these information will relax you.

Take care.
