Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 73 and fell when I stepped in a small pot hole, I got up and still walked around the store but it s becoming very sore. I took a hot bath and I can bend it-but hurts . Iam in bed with my knees drawed up so I can type on my iPad but when I go to lay it straight haft way it really hurts but when it is straight its ok.
It is good to hear that you are able to walk around.
You failed to mention, where you are hurting?
It is common to develop soreness after 24-48 hrs of injury. When muscle injury or sprain occurs it lasts from few days to weeks.
Also at your age it is easy to sustain fractures. So if you notice difficulty in walking or severe pain at a particular site, it is better to get an x-ray done.
Oral and topical analgesics will provide relief from pain. Also include calcium rich food and supplements to promote faster healing.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
