How To Prevent And Control Black Cataract And What's The Treatment For It?

hello dr., this is Jyotsana Mehta. My friend is 23 years old and doctors are doubtful about having black cataract and they say that it has caused 60% damage to the eyes. but they will confirm its occurence after 6 months when it will spread more. So, what should be done to prevent its occurence and how it can be controlled. Also, enlighten about its treatment? Hope to hear soon

Hello
It seems from the history that your friend is having black cataract.
Cataract is usually seen in people aged more than 50 years old and the presence of this in younger age can be developmental cataract.

As of now there is no medical treatment for cataract. However in some cases like metabolic cataract as cataracts because of diabetes, can be prevented by control of diabetes.

The treatment available for cataracts is surgical treatment in the form of cataract surgery.

Thank you
