I have just suffered my second miscarriage. The embryo did not develop. I asked my doctor about pregnal injections to assist but he said that is wouldn t help. Why not? Also - if all my tests are coming back normal - what can I do to prevent this happening again?
Hello, Thanks for trusting us with your health concern. If faulty development of the embryo is the cause of the abortion, the cause of the developmental defect should be studied through histopathological examination of the embryo, genetic studies of the embryo and also karyotyping of the parents to look for any possible chromosomal anomalies. Chromosomal defects are the most common cause in such a situation while there are also other causes like infections, anatomical defects, drug usage etc. Chorionic gonadotropin injections can help when the cause for the abortion is a hormone deficiency, which is not so in your case. Prevention of the recurrence of an abortion is dependent on the study of the cause and taking steps to see that it is not repeated, as far as possible. I will be able to comment further if you can upload your reports. Wish you good health.
