Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
in recent times, my left knee pops when I first stand up. (there is really no pain, but it is kind of frightening) . Ater I kind of move it around, it stops popping and I can continue walking as if it never happened. What can I do to prevent this from happening?
Welcome to health care magic. Thank you for posting your question.
I went through the details. I can understand your concern. This popping sensation of the knee occurs due to degenerative disease of the knee called osteoarthritis.
I would suggest you to avoid sitting on the floor , squatting , going up and down the stairs too often. These would worsen it.
I would also suggest you to get a standing X-Ray of your left knee both A-P and lateral view as soon as possible and visit an orthopedician. He/she can examine you and correlate clinically.
Do not worry.
Hope this helps.
Post any other question. We will be happy to help. Have a nice day. Regards.
