Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hello. my daughter is 5yrs and she went to school yesterday healthy as, when she got home she was still happy which was good, but then after she had gone to sleep, she woke up crying which she hasnt done since she was little and anyways it sounded like she was choking on something but it was nothing, her nose sounds blocked but i had a look and its clear. i found out from a friend that there is a virus going through alot of the schools here in town and she said it was called "angela fever" and thats why im on here coz i have no clue what this is and i cant get an appointment with our family doctor until monday. so could you please help to answer my question.... cheers.
I am not sure of the condition either, but it looks like a flu-like respiratory virus. Please use normal saline nose drops to keep her nostrils open. Looking at the nostrils from in front and saying they are "clear" may not always mean they are clear, because the blockage can be way down the nose passage at the back.
Give her soup and easy to digest foods, and try and keep her away from the school for a few days.
