How To Rectify Short Shortsightedness Of Reading -6 & -4.5?
My 4 and half year old daughter's eye test gave the following results what does it mean? I have short sightedness and my power is -6 and -4.5 - how does that relate to this? Please help? with what I can correct this for my daughter? L+ -- +100-150*175 20/30 OD 20/70 OS 20/50 R+ -- 100-175*180 20/30
Hello It seems from the history that you are having refractive error of -6 and -4.5. This indicates that you are having pathological myopia. Your daughter is also having refractive error. Usually pathological myopia is hereditary in nature and it is common to see it in children of parents with pathological myopia. No need to worry, the refractive error in your daughter is still less and it may or may not progress to become pathological myopia. The treatment is by correction with spectacles. Since the refractive error changes rapidly in children she needs to undergo frequent eye examination to find the changes and correction to prevent progression of the refractive error.
Thank you
