Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My rich finger knuckle sometimes locks when I bring it into the fist position. feels like both the knuckle and the joint in the body of the hand. Arthritis, no doubt. Quite painful but not visible swelling. I took an Advil, but not much relief. Any advice to ease the pain and to reduce the "locking" of the knuckle?

Hello Your description is suggestive of "trigger finger" that is knot formation in the tendon moving the finger. You may do hot water fomentation along with exercises and Ibuprofen. In resistant cases Injection depomedrol is given at site of tenderness. Hope this helps. Take care
