How To Reduce Pain And Swelling In The Throat After Swallowing Hot Food?
I ate a hot piece of food 3 days ago and my throat is very sore and it is very painful to swallow. I have tried to eat soft foods, but some get stuck in my throat and I can't swallow them without drinking liquid. What can I do to ease the pain? Should I see a doctor? How long could it take to heL?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain due to burning of throat with hot food there have been inflammation and swelling in the throat leading to difficulty in swallowing and pain.. Nothing to worry, you can take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen for pain relief.. Do cold water rinses and drink plenty of cold water as it will help in reducing inflammation and swelling and ease in swallowing.. Take soft and bland diet. Drink more of cool fluids. Avoid hot, spicy, hot and acidic foods. You can gargle with a numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine to get relieved from pain especially during meals.
Hope this information helps..
