hi for the last 2 weeks my husband has had a pain around his jaw. It started around the front of his jaw and he went to the dentist who took x-rays and said they coulnd't find anything wrong but gave him some antibiotics. They dodn't help and so he went to the doctors as the pain seem to start go to just underneath his ears and they said they didn;t know what was wrong but gave him more antibiotics and co-codomol and said to take ibprufen. He's been taking these for a week now and still is in a lot of pain. Can u help at all please

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain if the pain around the jaw that extends under the ear is not diagnosed to be due to any tooth related issue then there is a possibility that it is due to salivary gland disorders or can also be due to nerve induced pain or Myofascial pain ..
I would suggest you to consult an oral physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and certain investigations like Cross sectional
x rays of salivary glands, MRI scanning and other investigations if required to confirm the cause and treat you accordingly..
As of now you can do warm compresses over the painful areas and take painkillers along with muscle relaxants like Chlorzoxasene..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
