How To Reduce Pain In Ear Radiating To Jaw?

Hello. My husband dove off of a bridge (about 10 feet high) into the water. Since then he has had quite severe pain in one ear, radiating down into his jaw (it has now been 3 hours). He has taken tylenol to relieve the pain and is now resting. Is there anything else we need to do? I am assuming he has damaged his ear drum do to the sudden pressure change from entering the water? Is there anything we can do to help it heal or to ease the pain?

Hello there,
Thanks for your query,
Most probably your guess is correct. Due to sudden pressure, the ear drum might get congested and eventually it might rupture. Pain usually reduces on rupture of the drum!
The pain your husband experiencing is due to ear drum congestion. Please take ibuprofen 400 at night and do not blow the nose at present.
The pain will eventually relieve by a day.

Wishing him fast recovery
I am open to more questions
Thanks and regards
