How To Regularize Periods?

Hi, I have always had irregular menstrual cycles since I was 14, I am now 28. However, I have missed 7 months of my period - this is the longest I have gone. I m not pregnant. I have been using the nicotine patch off an on throughout the year as I am struggling to quit smoking. Could that have an effect on my period?

Hi, I think you should go for evaluation first. Do a thyroid profile and prolactin levels and a ultrasound for your uterus and ovaries. These will tell you why your periods are irregular. After that, you can take some hormones to regularise periods. Discuss with your doctor regarding this. I don't think nicotine patch have got any long term effects on your periods. May be this time your periods are delayed too long because of the stress factor. Hope I have answered your question.
