Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I slipped on the stairs, hitting my shin below the knee. It has been 2 weeks, the bruise has disipated but there is a prominent indentation and it is very painful. If I accidentally brush up against it or lightly touch it the pain is excruciating. My assumption is its chipped and nothing I can do. Should I do anything to help healing process, see a doctor, etc?
If there is any abrasion then make sure that you should not apply any water or dirt there. You should use some antiseptic cream over that. For indentaion use compression bandage and take Brufen tablet for pain relief. If there is any local warmth then you might need antibiotics also. It is not a serious issue and it will improve with in a week or two.
