I got the end of a qtip stuck in my ear and there is slightly any pain. But it's really uncomfortable. What should I do. It's a Sunday and the clinic that I go to is closed. And I don't think going to the ER is unnecessary... Can I drop some baby oil in my ear and try to remove it with tweezers?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain in case if the end of q-tip has got impacted inside the ear canal, first thing that I would like to tell you is that you should not try to remove it on your own as in an attempt to remove it you can tend to push it further inside..
Secondly dropping oil and trying to remove it with tweezers can also lead to push it further inside as well as you can accidentally perforate your eardrum that can further add up to your problems..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist or an Emergency room and get evaluated and as they have proper fine tipped tweezers that they can put inside the ear and remove it gently.. Another thing is that you need to get it removed as it can act as foreign body and can cause ear infection leading to severe pain and discomfort..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
