Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic.
I would advice against using any OTC creams like fair& lovely because instead of doing good, it may do more harm.
You should visit a
dermatologist for a thorough understanding and treatment fo acne and acne marks.
If I was your treating doctor I would have asked you to use topical clindamycin or
benzoyl peroxide gel once or twice daily for active acne.
Besides this, topical retinoids are first line treatment for acne and prevents the development of new acne lesions as well. You could also use a topical retinoid like adapalene gel for night time application. Azaleic acid is also a topical retinoid which works on both acne as well as lightens post acne black spots
Your treating dermatologist might also feel the need to start you on
oral antibiotics like either doxycycline or azithromycin for 4-12 weeks depending on the response and severity of acne.
Polycystic Ovarian disease(PCOD) is always a possibility that has to be ruled out in females with Acne.
I would like to gather some more information from you in order to be able to help you better.
--Do you have any abnormality in your menstural cycles? Are they regular or irregular?
--Do you also suffer from Coarse Facial Hair?
If the answer to any of these questions is yes, you may need to undergo blood test for serum
testosterone, serum DHEAS, serum LH, serum FSH etc
PCOD in females classically presents with signs of
hyperandrogenism e.g Acne , Hirsutism, Hair fall, Irregular menstural cycles along with Cyst on Ultrasound.
Specific Treatment for PCOD is with oral monthly hormonal pills/OCPs(
Oral contraceptive pills) e.g
Ethinyl estradiol and cyproterone acetate pills are available as a pack of 21 tablets.
