Pulmonologist 's  Response
I think your wife is having irritant fume induced bronchitis. The best way is stop the exposure give fresh air. One can also give cough supressant and broad spectrum antibiotic like levofloxacin. And if symptoms not get over please consult pulmonologist. Oral steroids are also helpful but should be taken after doctor s advice.
