OB & GYN Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

I suggest you to undergo some basic investigation like pelvic ultrasound and hormone profile to rule out uterine or cervical pathology (if any) like endometriosis, fibroid or polyp, adenomyosis etc beside PCOD. They are quite responsible for painful heavy period.

Combined OCP or Medroxyprogesterone acetate (like DEVIRY) should be taken to arrest heavy bleeding. Painkiller (Ibuprofen) and Tranexamic acid are supportive medicine. Kindly, procure complete prescription from your doctor.

Maintain genital hygiene. Take healthy IRON rich diet, drink more water and control body weight. Good luck and take care.
