How To Stop Prolonged Period?

hi doc, im 21 yrs old i have 2 baby i gave birth to my youngest child last March 2014, both NSD. I have regular periods but this conditions bothers me because i have my period until now since Oct 27, 2014 (1st day) i have consulted my physician and was advised for TVS i have the result of my ultrasound as both ovaries has multiple subcapsular follicles measuring less than 1cm i would like to know the meaning of it and how to stop the bleeding (my period) thank s.

Hello,

Probably you have polycystic ovaries, which is mainly because of hormonal problems. If you do not want pregnancy right now, oral contraceptives are very much helpful to reduce the blood loss dramatically. if that fails, other treatment options like Mirena etc may be considered. If still bleeding is heavy, please take tranexaemic acid during period.
