How To Support A Person Diagnosed With Liver Cancer?

my wife just called me about a good friend or ours (over 20 yrs) has been diagnosed with liver cancer............... how do i deal with this? i want to cry, i want to leave work and be alone. i want to go to my friends house right now.............. i need to work but this info is killing me.............

Yes it is very shocking but you need to be strong because at this moment your friend needs your support. If you will loose hope then there will be no one to support your friend. You can take leave from office for a week and visit your friend's place. Tell him that together you both will work out. Visit oncologist in your area with his reports and discuss the details including prognosis of treatment.
