Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can I start Qliara on the Yellow pills on the first day of my period? I have run out of the rest and my prescription won t be ready until wednesday and I just got my period. Is Qliara bad for weight gain and skin and which pills do I not take if I want to skip my period? Thanks for your help Antoinette
Combined contraceptive pills should be started on the fifth day of the cycle and continued for 21 days.On stopping the drug bleeding occurs.Again the drug should be started for 21 days.Side effects differ from person to person and hence watch for the bleeding pattern and side effects in the next few cycles.
Hence start the drug on the fifth day of the cycle.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards Dr.Saranya Ramadoss, General and Family Physician
