Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My blood pressure is high ( around 200/90) It has been running high despite my general physician prescribing blood pressure medication. My doctor recommended that I go to the emergency room Thursday. There they found a urinary tract infection and prescribed antiobiotics. The doctor there sent my physician the report, but he isout of town for ten days. My blood pressure is still high. What to do?
Thanks for contacting HCM. Dear patient you need to take a combination of antihypertensives to combat high blood pressure. I would recommend these medications- tab telmesartan 40 with HCt 12.5mg twice a day with low salt intake and avoiding salt reach foods like chinese food and pickles. Please get youself investigated for renal disease as in cases of renal hypertension traditional antihypertensives do not work and you require other special drugs to control renal hypertension. Regards
