I HAD A GRAN MAL SEIZURE IN 1989.I DON T TAKE NO SEIZURE MEDS.BUT I HAVE BEEN TAKING LYRICA FOR 3 YEARS FOR NERVE PAIN DUE TO ACCIDENT BUT I CAN T AFORD IT ANYMORE AND PAIN MANAGEMENT WANTS ME TO TAKE GARLISE.BUT I WAS WONDERING IT IT WAS SAFE FOR ME TO TAKE /THANK YOU
Gralise (gabapentin) is an antiepileptic drug which is also found to be beneficial in neuropathic pain. It is similar to Lyrica (pregabalin) in terms of mechanism of action, side effects and safety profile. In my opinion, you can go by your doctor's advice and try Gralise. I expect it to work as well as Lyrica and also to provide antiepileptic cover to you, in view of your history of a seizure in the past.
Best wishes.
