Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I got a small round sore spot on the top of my foot. Then it developed into a small blister. It has clear fluid in it but hasn t leaked or oozed. It has gotten bigger to the size of a dime and still not popped. It is itchy as all heck too. Should I pop it? I also had the same type of round spot on my other foot that looked like it was going to blister but it 1 day it turned black and healed itself quickly. Should I pop this blister and clean it? Man.......
You had a small round sore spot on the top of your foot, it has now grown bigger in size and is causing you itchy sensation and hence discomfort. You can take non -sedating antihistamines to manage the reaction. Cold compresses and topical steroid medication may also help. No, you should not pop it as it may be contagious and result in spread of infection. You can apply corticosteroid cream on the affected area for relieve.
Get clinically examined by a dermatologist, to detect if it is psoriasis. In that case you may require treatment with retinoids, moisturizers and salicylic acid. You should visit ER, get the sore spot on your foot examined. If needed it can be drained and antiseptic dressing done. Take care of your foot hygiene, keep foot clean. Do not use harsh soaps, chemical body lotions.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
