How To Treat A Bump On The Knee Cap Due To Falling On Ice?

Hi, I fell directly on my kneecap on ice while curling today. It didn t hurt too badly right after, so I continued playing. About 6 hours later I noticed a gooseegg type bump on my kneecap. There is not much pain but it makes walking difficult, and slightly painful.

Hi
Thanks for writing
After going through the description the most likely cause is collection of blood (hematoma) in front of patella (knee cap).
For now my advice would be take a break from playing for few days (7-10).Take ibuprofen to reduce pain and do ice fomentation. If the swelling subside well and good otherwise the swelling (hematoma) may be aspirated with syringe followed by compression bandage.
Take care
