Hello,

Thank you for asking at HCM.

I went through your history and would like to make suggestions for you as follows:

1. As you have asthma since very long time, I would suggest you spirometry with post-bronchodilatory reversibility testing which will help to know your lung capacity, type of airway problem, etc. It is will also help your doctor to choose appropriate inhaler for you.

2. I would also suggest you allergy testing for common air-borne allergens such as house dust mites, pollens, molds, insect proteins, animal dander, etc. This will help you identify the substances causing allergies to you as well as to know the measures to avoid them.

3. I usually prescribe my such patients appropriate use of regular inhalers ("preventer" inhalers) such as inhaled corticosteroids and inhalers for as-and-when-needed basis ("rescue" inhalers) such as inhaled salbutamol/levosalbutamol etc.

However, to suggest appropriate inhaler for you, details of frequency and severity of your symptoms as well as spirometry would be required.

4. In general, please avoid exposure to dusts, smokes and air pollution as much as possible.

5. Regular physical exercise including breathing exercises and nutritious diet rich in vitamins & minerals will also help you to improve your lung capacity and immunity respectively.

hope above suggestions will be helpful to you.

Should you have any further query, please feel free to ask at HCM.

Wish you the best of the health ahead.

Thank you & Regards.
