I had a cheek injury about 3 weeks ago.someone hit my face against the ground. The inflamation and bruises are gone but left me with a pronounced nodule which made my face asymmetrical. It still hurts when its palpated. What is the cure and how can I get rid of this nodule? Will it desolve by itself gradually? Thank you
I can understand your concern for pronounced nodule on your cheek. I can get form your history that you got injury on your cheek after fallen down on ground.
It is quite a common phenomenon that during an injury one can get dust particle or any stone or any foreign body entered into the skin.
This causes the typical phenomenon called a “foreign body Granuloma” and gives the appearance of a nodule at the affected site.
I suggest you to meet a surgeon or a dermatologist where a through analysis of the area can be done to check the area properly.
In my patients I usually prefer to explore the area and clean the area to remove the stone or any foreign particle from the nodule. A course of oral antibiotic such as cefixime or ciprofloxacin reduces the chances of infection.
All the best.
