How To Treat A Red, Squishy, Painful Bump Below The Knee?
I tripped a little less than three weeks ago on stone steps right below my knee. It didn't hurt much at the time, nor did it when it bruised... but the bruise is now a red bump, which can be painful but is overall manageable. The area is warm, and a little squishy. What should I do?
Hello, Thank you for posting on HCM. I think you have got a secondary bacterial infection over the bruise/wound you had from fall. Consult your dermatologist, who would prescribe you few days rest and a course of antibiotics (Cefadroxyl etc) and some analgesics having diclofenac in combination with serratiopeptidase. Apply an antibiotic cream containing mupirocin (T bact etc.) twice a day over area without rubbing. I hope this will take care of your condition within few days. Thank you, Dr Hardik Pitroda
