Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, my grandmother has tumor in her stomach and the doctors here say that she cannot stand the operation and decided that to put artificial canal to let the food pass through the stomach and they are trying to do that today but my question is there any treatment for her problem since that was only relief not a cure for her case. The tumor still in the stomach only and did not spread to other part. One more thing is that they found water near her heart and that cause her high heart beat and this probably happened to her because of the pipe they put in her body to feed her directly since the stomach is blocked because the firstly the pipe was put through 8 cm more that what suppose to be then they pulled it back and found still more 2 cm extra then the pulled it further.
Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your query, my opinion is as follows. 1. Initially surgery and later on chemotherapy or radiation therapy is usually the treatment depending on the tumor. 2. If the tumor has moved to other locations, difficult to treat. 3. Any surgery done could have complications due to reduced Cardiac, renal, hepatic and pulmonary functions. Further radiation and chemotherapy would still add to these complications. 3. Palliative therapy was therefore advised. Do give him good support to have a happy and fulfilling last few days. Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again
