How To Treat An Itchy Bump Occurring On The Arm And That Later Spreads?
Okay I have recently been discovering this reoccurring bump that itches on my arm. It doesn t have any puss coming out or anything. It just itches and gets bigger and bigger. I put cream on it and the next day its gone. Then two weeks later the same bump comes back and itches alot then it spreads from my upper arm to my elbow and wrist. Its the size of a quarter and its like a mosquito bite but look more like a lump. It itches then stops itching for a while then starts itching again. I use all the creams it works for little bit then it starts itching again. This is the third time it has reappeared and its depressing. Please tell me what it might be before I make an unwanted trip to the emergency room. Thanks -Renetta
This is a very benign condition known as papular urticaria. In your case most likely secondary to bed bugs. All you need is an antihistamine like Loratidine at night along with topical soothing lotion (calamine,) applied two to three times a day on affected areas. Plus, to avoid recurrence, we tell our patients to disinfect all the clothing and bedding by washing them in hot water and later bathing them in the sun.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
