thank you... I recently had a cortizone (sp) shot in my left shoulder for arthreitis (sp) and my Blood sugan blood count has jumped into the 200 area with little luck in getting it back in the area of 120 to 150. shouldl I take more insulin? YYYY@YYYY
Dear sir i can understand your concern Relax its a usual happening in course of diabetes whenever pts are started on steroids there will be increase of blood sugar but in many conditions pts are at need to take steroids. In this kind of scenarios we advise pts to generally increase the dose of medication and better check sugars regularly at home. within two to three weeks time the effects of steroids will weaned off and sugars will return to normal. pls take advice of your doctor when changing the dose.
