How To Treat Brown Waxy Substance Filled Lump?

Hi, I have a "bump" for lack of a better word on my back with a brown waxy substance. It does not hurt but causes irritation when "full". At that point I pinch it to remove the smelly, waxy substance and I am ok for another month. oO you know what the substance/lump may be? Or what causes it?
